Nexgram Appoints Substantial Shareholder Henry Cheang As Group MD
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- Nexgram Holdings Bhd announced that Henry Cheang Soon Siang had emerged as a substantial shareholder, following his acquisition of 55.97 million ordinary shares, bringing his total interest to 65.97 million shares, representing 6.75 per cent of the company’s issued voting shares.
The company said in a statement today that it has also appointed Cheang, previously executive director, as the company's group managing director, placing him at the helm of its expansion into artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, integrated development and long-term income-generating assets.
The telecommunications and IT infrastructure company said Cheang was instrumental in bringing Neu Nexus Century City (NNCC) into the group’s development pipeline.
"NNCC’s groundbreaking on June 29, 2026 was accompanied by two memoranda of agreement and two memoranda of understanding relating to investment mandates, with an aggregate indicative value of approximately RM1.23 billion.
"Located in Cyberjaya, the integrated mixed-use project combines a corporate tower, hotel, commercial and supporting lifestyle facilities with two planned AI data centres intended to serve Malaysian and international customers," the company said.
Meanwhile, Cheang said his increased investment reflects his confidence in Nexgram’s direction and his commitment to delivering value alongside the shareholders.
“NNCC brings together the infrastructure businesses need to compute, operate and grow.
"Our priority is to translate that opportunity into disciplined execution, securing customers, aligning funding with delivery milestones and building assets capable of generating sustainable income," he said.
