BDB Group chief executive officer Che Abdul Khalid Md Din said the contract reflected confidence in BDB Synergy’s capabilities in engineering and construction projects, including those awarded by Federal government agencies. “The RM11.5 million contract demonstrates that the BDB Group continues to be trusted in supporting infrastructure development, not only by the Kedah state government but also by federal government agencies,” he said in a statement.

He said BDB Synergy’s involvement in the IBC project was in line with the group’s efforts to strengthen its core engineering and construction business, while expanding its participation in strategic infrastructure projects in Kedah.

KRC, developed in Bukit Ketapang, Padang Terap, is a strategic project aimed at spurring development in eastern Kedah and supporting more balanced economic growth between the state’s eastern and western coastal regions.

Among the company’s major projects currently nearing completion is the upgrading of the Pelubang Water Treatment Plant and installation of pipeline networks, awarded by the Kedah state government with a total value of RM431 million.

Che Abdul Khalid said the new contract further strengthened BDB Synergy’s track record in implementing construction projects in strategic development areas.

“BDB Synergy will leverage its experience and expertise to ensure that the IBC project is implemented efficiently, to the required quality standards and within the stipulated timeframe.
