According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia, the unemployment rate stood at 3.0 per cent in May 2026.

The country’s labour market improved moderately in line with stable economic growth, registering steady employment growth and a persistently low unemployment rate, amid ongoing global trade and supply chain uncertainties.
