KFSH Earns Top Digital, AI Honours In Newsweek Smart Hospitals Ranking
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- Saudi Arabia’s King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH) has received the maximum five-ribbon digital maturity rating and the new Leader in AI Innovation distinction in Newsweek’s World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2027 ranking.
KFSH is one of only 15 hospitals worldwide to receive both recognitions, placing it among fewer than four per cent of the 410 leading hospitals ranked across 33 countries.
The five-ribbon rating represents the highest tier of the ranking’s revised digital maturity scale. The Leader in AI Innovation distinction, introduced for the first time this year, recognises hospitals for their achievements in artificial intelligence (AI).
Developed by Newsweek and Statista, the ranking combines international peer recommendations with the Statista Smart Hospitals Digital Maturity Survey, which requires supporting evidence and validation by senior management.
To qualify for the AI distinction, hospitals had to score at or above the 70th percentile in both AI peer recognition and AI maturity.
In a statement, KFSH said its performance reflected an integrated approach combining clinical excellence, pioneering research and advanced digital capabilities.
The hospital applies AI, predictive analytics and intelligent patient-flow management to support clinical decision-making, improve operational efficiency and enhance the patient experience.
KFSH was also ranked first in the Middle East and Africa and 12th globally among the world’s top 250 academic medical centres for 2026. According to Brand Finance, it was also recognised as the most valuable healthcare brand in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East for 2026.
