KL Rubber Market Remains Mixed Amid Regional Pressures

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- The Kuala Lumpur rubber market maintained its mixed trend today, weighed down by losses in regional rubber futures and oil prices, as well as concerns over supply disruptions, a dealer said.
She said regional rubber futures fell on Tuesday as traders weighed persistent rain-related cost pressures in southern Thailand against lower oil prices.
“However, further losses were capped by weather-related supply disruptions in major rubber-producing countries, declining rubber exports from Thailand and positive economic indicators from China,” she told Bernama.
The dealer said persistent rain in southern Thailand could further widen the price gap between Thai latex and cup lump rubber.
She added that Thailand’s natural rubber exports totalled 1.83 million tonnes in the first nine months of 2026, down 8.0 per cent year-on-year, while exports to China fell 24 per cent to 576,000 tonnes.
At 3 pm, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s Standard Malaysian Rubber 20 (SMR 20) price declined 10 sen to 1,027 sen per kilogramme (kg), while bulk latex rose one sen to 800 sen per kg.
