Chery’s LEPAS L6 EV Completes 700km Shanghai-Wuhu Test Drive

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Chery Auto’s premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand LEPAS has completed the first global drive of its L6 EV, with 34 ambassadors from 15 countries covering about 700 kilometres (km) from Shanghai to Wuhu on Oct 19 to 20.

The LEPAS Global Elegance Drive was part of the inaugural LEPAS Global Elegant Lifestyle Week, held during the 2026 Chery International User Summit. The route passed through Tonglu, Qiandao Lake and Shexian, testing the vehicle’s driving dynamics, ride comfort, intelligent parking, range and charging performance.

On the first day, the convoy travelled from Shanghai to Qiandao Lake, with drivers using the car’s 540-degree panoramic view system in city traffic and its advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) on highways.

At the lake, participants tested the Automated Parking Assist (APA) and Remote Parking Assist (RPA) functions in tight spaces and used the vehicle-to-load (V2L) function in a camping setting, the company said in a statement.

The second day took the convoy along winding mountain roads with changing gradients towards Wuhu, testing the car’s steering, body control, power delivery and braking. LEPAS said the chassis absorbed bumps effectively, keeping rear-seat passengers comfortable on uneven surfaces.

The company said feedback from participants would help it better understand user needs in global markets.
