MDEC CEO Anuar Fariz Fadzil To Conclude Two-year Tenure
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) chief executive officer Anuar Fariz Fadzil will conclude his tenure after completing his two-year contract on Oct 2, 2026.
The agency said Anuar informed the MDEC board that after careful consideration, he has decided not to seek a renewal of his contract as he prepares to pursue new opportunities outside MDEC.
During Anuar’s tenure, MDEC delivered strong investment and employment outcomes.
“From 2025 to August 2026, MDEC secured close to RM180 billion in digital investments from more than 1,000 Malaysia Digital (MD) status companies. These investments are expected to generate more than 42,000 high-value jobs for Malaysians. This reflects a maturing digital economy that is shifting decisively towards higher-value, artificial intelligence (AI)-led growth, positioning Malaysia not only as a consumer but also as a creator of technology,” the agency said in a statement.
Beyond investment, the agency noted that Anuar sharpened MDEC’s focus on execution, accountability and measurable economic outcomes, anchoring the organisation’s performance on jobs, exports, revenue and investments.
