Gamuda FY2026 Net Profit Rises To RM1.05 Bln, Domestic Construction Earnings Surge 49 Pct

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Gamuda Bhd's net profit increased by five per cent to RM1.052 billion for the financial year ended July 31, 2026 (FY2026), marking its fifth consecutive year of record earnings.

Its revenue rose 14 per cent to an all-time high of RM18.6 billion, supported by stronger construction performance, with its construction order book reaching an unprecedented RM61 billion.

"The construction segment remained the key earnings driver, with domestic construction earnings surging 49 per cent to RM461 million, driven substantially by the data centre segment.

"Including overseas projects, overall construction earnings grew 19 per cent to RM742 million," it said in a press release.

For the fourth quarter ended July 31, 2026 (4Q FY2026), Gamuda's net profit rose five per cent to RM350 million, while its revenue grew 19 per cent to RM5.8 billion.

However, it said the property division recorded a softer performance, with quarterly revenue and net profit declining 14 per cent and 41 per cent, respectively, due to slower sales conversion across its Malaysia townships.

Net gearing stood at 72 per cent at the end of July 2026, slightly above the group’s self-imposed limit of 70 per cent, following land acquisitions in Vietnam and Singapore to replenish its quick-turnaround projects portfolio.

Despite this, the group continued to generate strong operating cash flow, recording nearly RM800 million in surplus cash during the year.

"Gamuda expects gearing to moderate from next year onwards, supported by cash inflows from its record construction order book and RM7.6 billion of unbilled property sales," it said.

The group also noted that its Eaton Park project in Vietnam is nearly sold out, adding that under Vietnamese regulations, developers can collect up to 50 per cent of the sales value during construction, with the remaining balance received upon project completion.
