PMI President, CEO Pierre Le Manh To Step Down, Johannes Heinlein Named Interim
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 (Bernama) -- Project Management Institute (PMI), a global authority in project management, announced that President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pierre Le Manh, will step down from his role effective Sept 30, with Chief Growth Officer, Johannes Heinlein appointed interim President and CEO from the same date.
Le Manh joined PMI in September 2022 and, during his four-year tenure, led the development and execution of the organisation’s current strategy, strengthened its leadership team and expanded its capabilities through acquisitions and partnerships.
PMI Board of Directors Chair, Ike Nwankwo thanked Le Manh for his leadership, saying he leaves the organisation with a clear strategy, a strong leadership team and significant momentum.
Meanwhile, Le Manh said he believed the transition was timely as he prepares to take on another challenge, adding that he was grateful to PMI’s board, employees, members and volunteers worldwide for their support during his tenure.
In a statement, PMI said its board will conduct a search for a permanent President and CEO, with further details expected in the coming months. In the interim, the organisation said Heinlein’s appointment would support continuity of operations and strategic priorities.
Heinlein said he was honoured by the board’s confidence and would work with PMI’s board, leadership team and members worldwide to build on the organisation’s progress while the search for a permanent CEO is completed.
Heinlein currently serves as PMI’s Chief Growth Officer, overseeing advocacy, community, research, education and business growth worldwide. He has also held leadership positions across Europe, Asia Pacific and North America, including at Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Deloitte.
At Harvard, Heinlein led university-wide change initiatives in the President’s Office before becoming Chief Commercial Officer and Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at edX, the online learning platform founded by Harvard and MIT.
