Gradiant Secures US$300 Mln In New Water Contracts For US Semiconductor Fabs

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 (Bernama) -- Boston-headquartered Gradiant has announced US$300 million in new contracts from major United States (US) semiconductor manufacturing customers since the beginning of 2026, covering five fabrication sites in New York, Virginia, Idaho and Utah. (US$1 = RM4.08)

The projects include ultrapure water, high-recovery wastewater treatment, local scrubber reclaim, and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) systems to reduce freshwater demand, increase water reuse, and maximise production in increasingly water-constrained environments.

Gradiant Chief Executive Officer, Prakash Govindan said water has become one of the defining constraints on how quickly the world can build the chips powering artificial intelligence (AI) data centres, including high-bandwidth memory.

“That is why leading semiconductor manufacturers keep choosing Gradiant: we own the full water cycle, from ultrapure water to the most complex wastewater streams, as one accountable partner. Water will not be the reason a fab falls behind,” he said.

Meanwhile, Gradiant Managing Director, Americas, Nish Vora said the contracts support the company’s target of a US$1 billion order book next year.

“Each of these contracts reinforces Gradiant's position as the water layer for semiconductors, eliminating water as a constraint for the companies building the chips the AI economy runs on,” added Vora.

Gradiant in a statement said it will deliver its full semiconductor portfolio across the sites, from ultrapure water production to high-recovery wastewater treatment, scrubber reclaim, and treatment of complex streams such as hydrofluoric-acid wastewater and ZLD.

Several of the awards are repeat contracts from existing customers, including the second phase of a high-recovery wastewater facility at one of the world’s largest semiconductor fabs and a scrubber reclaim design already proven for the same customer in Singapore, Taiwan and the US, recovering more than 80 per cent of feed volume.

The company’s semiconductor solutions, spanning ultrapure water, advanced wastewater treatment, high-recovery water reuse and ZLD systems, are designed to help manufacturers increase capacity while reducing water consumption and environmental impact.
