Bank Muamalat Opens New Branch In Kuala Selangor
SHAH ALAM, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (Bank Muamalat) continues to expand access to Islamic banking services with the official opening of its Kuala Selangor branch today.
The new branch was officially opened by Selangor Housing and Culture Exco Datuk Borhan Aman Shah, together with Bank Muamalat president and chief executive officer Datuk Khairul Kamarudin, further strengthening the bank’s presence in Selangor to meet the financial needs of the community, entrepreneurs and local businesses.
Khairul said the new branch would provide easier access to banking services for customers in Kuala Selangor and surrounding areas, including Bestari Jaya, Tanjong Karang, Ijok and Jeram. He added that the selection of Kuala Selangor as the location for the latest branch was a strategic and timely decision, taking into account its growth potential and diverse economic activities.
“Kuala Selangor has very promising growth prospects. Bank Muamalat’s presence here is not merely to provide banking services, but also to be a trusted financial partner for the community, entrepreneurs and local businesses in realising their potential,” he said in a statement.
Khairul said the opening of the branch is expected to spur local economic growth by expanding access to financial and financing solutions, including for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as industry players in the agriculture, fisheries, tourism and halal food sectors. He added that Bank Muamalat is committed to supporting the Selangor state government’s aspirations to strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem, enhance financial inclusion and expand the use of responsible Islamic financial solutions for the well-being of the community.
The Kuala Selangor branch offers a comprehensive range of Islamic banking products and financial services, including current, savings and investment accounts, home financing, personal financing, vehicle financing, Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) financing, debit cards and credit cards-i. It also provides business and MSME financing, Ar-Rahnu, Muamalat Gold-i, unit trusts, financial planning and takaful protection services.
In addition, Bank Muamalat provides services as an official agent for Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) and Lembaga Tabung Haji, as well as zakat payment facilities and daily banking transaction services.
At the event, Bank Muamalat also presented prizes to winners of the Save2Win Campaign in appreciation of customers’ continued support for the financial institution’s savings products.
Bank Muamalat also contributed corporate social responsibility (CSR) aid to identified recipients as part of the bank’s commitment to supporting the development and wellbeing of the local community.
