E&O's Net Profit Rises To RM58.11 Mln In 1Q FY2027
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Eastern & Oriental Bhd’s (E&O) net profit rose to RM58.11 million in the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (1Q FY2027) from RM45.41 million in 1Q FY2026.
Revenue jumped 53.4 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM281.47 million from RM183.50 million previously, attributed to its properties segment, which registered an increase of RM99.3 million.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said its properties segment’s revenue rose by 63.2 per cent y-o-y to RM256.4 million in 1Q FY2027 from RM157.1 million in 1Q FY2026, due to higher revenue recognition from the recent launched projects, AVÉA, Fera and Senna Phases 3 and 4, Laman Embun and Seri Embun.
However, the hospitality segment’s revenue eased by 1.6 per cent y-o-y to RM24.7 million from RM25.1 million previously.
Meanwhile, its investments and other segments’ operating profit declined to RM8.5 million in 1Q FY2027 from RM10.4 million in 1Q FY2026.
“The decrease was mainly due to lower management fees recognised as the projects approached completion,” it said.
On outlook, the company said overall, the group remains cautiously optimistic about its prospects in the coming quarters.
“The hospitality segment is expected to maintain its positive momentum driven by continuing regional travel demand,” it said.
