Gold Futures End Higher Tracking US COMEX
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher today tracking the strong performance of gold futures on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).
At the close, the spot-month August 2026 contract gained to US$4,638.50 per troy ounce from last Friday’s US$4,586.40 per troy ounce, and the September 2026 contract rose to US$4,654.70 per troy ounce from US$4,602.90 per troy ounce previously.
The October and November 2026 contracts both increased to US$4,671.70 per troy ounce from US$4,619.90 per troy ounce, while the December 2026 and February 2027 contracts strengthened to US$4,679.50 per troy ounce from US$4,627.70 per troy ounce.
Trading volume rose to 392 lots from 254 lots last Friday, while open interest widened to 457 contracts from 327 contracts previously.
Physical gold was fixed at US$4,582.10 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on Aug 21, 2026.
