MMHE Records Surge In Net Profit To RM60.59 Mln In 2Q 2026
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd posted a higher net profit of RM60.59 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2Q 2026) compared with RM10.05 million in 2Q 2025.
Revenue also climbed to RM986.72 million from RM431.57 million a year ago, largely driven by higher revenue contribution from the heavy engineering segment.
It said the heavy engineering segment recorded higher revenue of RM870.2 million during the quarter, an increase of RM560.2 million from the corresponding quarter.
“The increase was primarily attributable to the ongoing projects advancing into higher construction phases coupled with finalisation of post sail-away projects. The segment registered an operating profit of RM62.0 million, representing an increase of RM60.5 million from RM1.5 million recorded in the corresponding quarter,” MMHE said in a stock exchange filing.
The stronger performance was mainly attributable to higher revenue recognised during the quarter and the finalisation of post-sail-away projects, which have contributed positively.
For the first six months of 2026 (1H 2026), MMHE delivered a net profit of RM74.88 million compared to RM22.29 million previously, while revenue increased to RM1.5 billion from RM884.67 million a year ago.
MMHE said its heavy engineering segment will maintain a strategic and selective approach to securing a high-quality order book across conventional and new energy sectors, both domestically and internationally, to support a balanced portfolio while maintaining strong project execution discipline.
“In response to heightened competition, the group will remain focused on strengthening its presence in targeted market segments while positioning itself to capitalise on evolving regional shipping patterns and emerging market opportunities,” it added.
