It said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that the cement and building materials industry, hotel operations and utilities segments recorded higher revenue. Construction, property investment and development, and management services and other segments recorded lower revenue.

In a note, CGS International said YTL Corp has yet to capitalise on any large external infrastructure projects from its RM10 billion to RM15 billion tender book, but is in the running for the Penang LRT systems, rail bridge from Penang Island to the mainland and other overseas rail/metro projects.

“Until this happens, we believe the widening market capitalisation differential with its key subsidiary, YTL Power International, offers investors an opportunity to add exposure in YTL  Corp.
