The upgrade applies across Fortegra's property and casualty, life and health insurance subsidiaries in the United States and Europe.

The company said the rating action follows DB Insurance's acquisition of Fortegra on May 29, 2026. According to AM Best, the upgrade reflects Fortegra's strategic importance to DB Insurance and the benefits of operating as part of a larger, higher-rated insurance group.

KBRA also upgraded all of its ratings for Fortegra, including the insurance financial strength ratings of its key insurance subsidiaries to A from A-, and the issuer rating of The Fortegra Group to BBB+ from BBB, with a stable outlook.
