CPO Futures End Mostly Higher On Robust Export Demand

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 (Bernama) -- Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed mostly higher on Thursday as robust export demand lifted market sentiment.

Fastmarkets Palm Oil Analytics senior analyst Sathia Varqa said July exports are expected to increase by nearly 20 per cent from June, reflecting robust export performance.

“The increase marks the second straight month of stronger exports, signalling that export demand remains resilient,” he told Bernama. 

At the close, the August 2026 contract fell RM3 to RM4,554 per tonne and September 2026 gained RM15 to RM4,643 per tonne.

The October 2026, November 2026 and December 2026 contracts rose RM19 each to RM4,683,  RM4,714 and RM4,743 per tonne, respectively, while January 2027 climbed RM17 to RM4,770 per tonne.

Trading volume decreased to 67,530 lots from 77,694 lots on Wednesday, while open interest slipped to 302,397 contracts from 302,561 contracts previously.

The physical CPO price for August South decreased RM10 to RM4,550 per tonne.
