TNB Builds Future-Ready Procurement Ecosystem Through Stronger Regional Collaboration

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 (Bernama) -- Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), as one of the leading utility companies in ASEAN, is building a future-ready procurement ecosystem through stronger regional collaboration, said its chief procurement officer, Ir. Ts. Amir Mahmod Abdullah.

He said this effort is becoming increasingly important as organisations navigate evolving supply chains, geopolitical shifts and changing regulatory landscapes.

"We are supporting the ASEAN Centre of Excellence as a platform to drive supply chain innovation, foster regional partnerships and elevate procurement excellence across ASEAN economies.”

“At the same time, we must recognise and transparently address the differences in market dynamics, supplier ecosystems, regulatory frameworks and supply chain and trade policies across ASEAN’s 11 member countries,” he said during the panel discussion entitled “The Future of Regional Procurement Centre of Excellence", held recently at the Procurement Leadership ASEAN Summit (PLAS) 2026.

The session explored how ASEAN can strengthen procurement capabilities through collaboration, governance and innovation while building resilient supply chains across the region.

Sharing TNB's perspective, Amir also highlighted the importance of establishing stronger regional platforms that enable knowledge sharing, innovation and long-term partnerships.
