OCBC Malaysia Wins FinanceAsia SME Bank Award For Third Year
KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 (Bernama) -- OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (OCBC Malaysia) was named Best Bank for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Malaysia international category at the FinanceAsia Awards 2026, marking its third consecutive win.
In a statement today, the bank said the award recognised its strong position in the SME sector through innovative digital solutions and financing capabilities that help businesses improve productivity, manage costs and accelerate growth.
In line with the government’s e-invoicing rollout, OCBC Malaysia became the first financial institution in the country to integrate the Inland Revenue Board’s MyInvois Portal directly with its digital business banking platform, OCBC Velocity.
The integration reduced processing time for working capital loan approvals and submissions by more than 50 per cent, enabling SMEs to access funds faster.
OCBC Malaysia head of emerging business Chan Kok Leong said the recognition reflected the strong trust SMEs had placed in the bank’s services.
“As businesses navigate an increasingly dynamic operating environment, we remain committed to supporting their growth ambitions through tailored financing solutions, market intelligence and regional connectivity that enable them to seize opportunities with confidence,” he said.
The bank’s Serial Entrepreneur Programme, which provides tailored banking solutions for business owners managing multiple companies, has supported more than RM2 billion in financing to date.
Its digital treasury platform, FX Online, meanwhile, facilitated more than US$1.3 billion in foreign exchange transactions in 2025, supporting SMEs expanding their operations across ASEAN and Greater China.
The FinanceAsia Awards, now in their 30th edition, recognise financial institutions across Asia for their performance, innovation, leadership, customer service and business resilience.
