KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- The world’s digital infrastructure company, Equinix Inc, has appointed Effendi Azmi Hashim as managing director for Malaysia, effective immediately.

"I am honoured to join Equinix at such an important time for Malaysia’s digital economy. I look forward to building on the strong foundation that Cheam and the team have established, and leading the next phase of growth as demand for digital infrastructure continues to accelerate across Malaysia and the region," he said.

Effendi said as organisations look to scale digital capabilities, modernise infrastructure and create new value through artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud, Equinix is well positioned to help customers connect to the partners, ecosystems and platforms they need to grow with confidence.

The company added that Effendi would lead Equinix’s Malaysia business, overseeing strategy, customer growth and operations as the company enters its next phase of growth amid increasing demand for artificial intelligence (AI), cloud and interconnected digital infrastructure.
