TSH Resources Volunteers To Engage With Singapore NEA's Independent Assessors Over Haze

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- TSH Resources Bhd has voluntarily offered to engage with the Singapore government's assessors panel to evaluate its operations, corporate relationships and supply chains in connection with the fires in Indonesia that have contributed to the transboundary haze.

The move follows notices issued by the Singapore National Environment Agency (NEA) to the group's Singapore-incorporated subsidiaries, TSH Oversea Pte Ltd and TSH Global Plantation Pte Ltd, under Section 10(1) of the Transboundary Haze Pollution Act 2014.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing today, the plantation group said that it had written to the NEA to confirm its participation and commitment to cooperating with the assessors in carrying out their assessment, in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements, as directed by the NEA.

"The company shares the government’s concern over the impact of the fires and haze and welcomes the opportunity to engage constructively with the relevant authorities and independent assessors," it said, adding that TSH  continues to cooperate fully and transparently with the authorities.

The company will provide further updates as may be necessary if there are material developments in the matter, it added.
