Rently Secures US$12 Mln Growth Credit Facility To Expand Rental Innovation

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- Rental commerce platform, Rently has secured a US$12 million growth credit facility from January Capital, a technology investment firm, to support its expansion across Asia-Pacific and the Gulf region. (US$1 = RM4.08)

The facility will enable Rently to extend its rent flexibility services across existing markets in Singapore, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), while expanding into new markets. Its offerings allow tenants to earn rewards on rent payments, defer payments and spread move-in costs over the lease period.

“This capital lets us say yes to more tenants, faster, across the UAE, Singapore and Hong Kong, while our equity stays focused on building new products and expanding into new markets,” said Rently Chief Executive Officer, Shiv Mahajan.

Meanwhile, January Capital Partner for Growth Credit, Jason Edwards said the investment reflected the firm’s commitment to supporting fast-growing companies in the Asia-Pacific region through flexible, non-dilutive credit solutions.

In Singapore, private residential rents rose 0.7 per cent in the second quarter of 2026, according to the Urban Redevelopment Authority.

Tenants in Singapore using its platform generated SG$36.3 million (US$28.4 million) in rental transaction volume in the first nine months of 2026, 2.5 times the volume recorded in the same period last year, Rently said in a statement.

The platform offers three services: rewards on rent payments through credit cards or eGIRO bank deductions, payment deferrals to better align with tenants’ cash flow, and options to spread security deposit costs across the lease period.

Rently has also integrated Singpass, Singapore’s national digital identity system, enabling tenants to verify their identities and apply within minutes. It works with co-living spaces, large landlords and real estate agencies.

The facility will support Rently’s core offerings and planned entry into new markets in 2027 as it prepares for a Series A funding round. The company previously raised US$3 million in pre-Series A funding.
