TeleChoice Unit Clinches S$1.3 Bln Contract Renewal From U Mobile

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 (Bernama) -- Singapore Exchange Mainboard-listed TeleChoice International Ltd’s unit Planet Telecoms Managed Services Sdn Bhd (PTMS) will continue providing end-to-end supply chain services to U Mobile Sdn Bhd after renewing a contract valued at an estimated S$1.3 billion (S$1=RM3.19).

In a joint statement, it said the renewed contract, which reflects an expanded scope of services and carries a higher annual value than the initial S$500 million, three-year contract announced in February 2024, will take effect from February 2027 for three years, with an option to extend for a further two years.

It said that under the agreement, PTMS acts as U Mobile’s procurement partner, managing its device supply chain and overseeing the entire product lifecycle, including stock management, warehousing, order fulfilment and distribution, while financing device inventories and providing insurance coverage for deliveries.

“Real-time data is used to monitor performance and manage stock levels efficiently,” it said.

Commenting on the contract renewal, TeleChoice president and chief executive officer Pauline Wong said it reflected strong confidence in the group and expressed appreciation for the continued partnership.

“In just three years, the network we manage for U Mobile has grown from over 600 touchpoints to more than 1,000 touchpoints across Malaysia, reflecting the hard work of our PTMS team and the close collaboration between our two companies.
