MET Asia Names Esther Ang CEO In Asia LNG Push

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- MET Asia, the Singapore-based regional arm of energy company MET Group, has appointed Esther Ang as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective Nov 1, as the group expects Asia to account for 30 per cent of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) deliveries this year.

Ang, a Singaporean, has been with MET Group for nine years and is currently Head of LNG Origination on MET International’s LNG Desk. The company said she has played a key role in expanding the group’s LNG activities and international reach.

“Asia is one of the most important energy markets in the world and offers significant opportunities for growth,” said Ang, adding that she looked forward to reinforcing trust with partners and developing further regional and global collaborations.

In her new role, Ang will lead the development of MET Group’s LNG origination and trading activities in Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia, supporting its plans to grow its global LNG portfolio and regional energy presence.

The company in a statement said MET Group delivered 5.42 million tonnes of LNG in 2025, mostly into its European import system, and expects its portfolio to grow further this year.

The group sources LNG from suppliers worldwide, including through long-term free-on-board purchases from the United States, and aims to expand its partnerships globally.
