Pahang Secures 12 Investment Commitments Worth RM421 Mln At SIBS 2026
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- The Pahang state government has secured 12 investment commitment agreements worth RM421 million at the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026.
Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the state government’s participation through Invest Pahang at the summit created opportunities for strategic cooperation and promoted investment prospects to local and international investors.
He said the state government remained committed to facilitating investment by minimising bureaucratic red tape without compromising regulatory requirements.
“Investors have choices, and they will go for the option that is best for them and makes things easier. So, we provide facilities like these to attract them,” he told a press conference after the exchange of strategic cooperation documents between the Pahang state government and seven companies at SIBS 2026 here today.
Wan Rosdy said every investment commitment sealed must translate into tangible physical projects so the state and its people can feel the benefits directly.
“We are not just talking; we have also established Pahang Barat Plus because we do not want the state’s 1.67 million people to feel marginalised or for economic development to be uneven,” he said.
Pahang Barat Plus is a regional economic development initiative launched by the Pahang state government in partnership with the federal government to boost balanced growth in the western districts of Pahang.
Earlier, in his speech, Wan Rosdy said the success of any collaboration should not be measured solely by the signing of memoranda of understanding or the value of announced investments, but by the ability to bring each initiative to the implementation stage.
He said the state government therefore prioritised attracting quality investments that could create jobs, enhance workforce skills, strengthen local businesses and introduce new technologies.
“All these will be coordinated in accordance with applicable legal, technical, planning and sustainability requirements. To investors and strategic partners, I welcome you all to explore the opportunities in Pahang.
“I hope SIBS 2026 will mark another important step in strengthening investment ties and opening a new chapter in Pahang’s economic development,” said Wan Rosdy.
SIBS is an annual business event hosted by the Selangor state government and organised by Invest Selangor Bhd as one of Malaysia’s largest local and international trade gateways for exhibitors, buyers and delegates to match business communities across the globe.
This year’s edition takes place from Oct 14-17 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
