Chery’s LUXEED To Hit 250 km/h In Media Test Drive
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- Chery Group’s LUXEED brand will put its vehicles through a global media test drive at the Guangde Proving Ground on Oct 20, as part of the 2026 Chery International User Summit.
Automotive journalists and key opinion leaders (KOLs) from around the world will take part in a series of test programmes to assess the vehicles’ driving dynamics, handling stability and refinement.
On the proving ground’s high-speed banked circuit, LUXEED will attempt a cruise at speeds above 250 kilometre per hour (km/h). The company said the high-speed banked circuit run is designed to verify the vehicles’ aerodynamic efficiency and body stability at high speed.
Meanwhile, on the straight-line performance lanes, the vehicles will demonstrate zero to 100 km/h acceleration using LUXEED’s One-Touch BOOST function, as well as braking distance.
Handling tests will include a moose test, an emergency obstacle-avoidance manoeuvre, at speeds above 82 km/h, together with slalom and skidpad runs.
LUXEED said the vehicles’ dual-chamber air suspension, dual-valve Continuous Damping Control (CDC) and Vehicle Motion Control (VMC) system, combined with rear-wheel steering, will demonstrate body control and precise tracking during sharp manoeuvres and rapid lane changes.
The programme also covers intelligent-driving cruising across a range of scenarios, according to the company in a statement.
The company said the event would showcase its driving quality and what it described as “5-Star safety design standards”, and serve as a global stage to demonstrate the brand’s credentials as a flagship luxury marque.
