Budget 2027 A Good Start For Women Empowerment - MIDA

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Bernama) --  The government’s measures to strengthen women's empowerment under Budget 2027 are seen as a good start, according to the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).

In a post on X, MIDA chairman, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz highlighted that the initiatives include an allocation of RM200 million to provide equipment and training to 40,000 recipients, particularly women, as well as efforts to expand childcare facilities.

“However, the government’s efforts alone are not enough. Employers also have a role to play. Promotion opportunities, fair wages and flexible working arrangements are not merely benefits for employees, but also investments in our economic future.

“We have long seen what women are capable of. Now, it is our responsibility to create more opportunities for them and share the burden together. When women progress, the whole country progresses,” he said in the post while attending the Women Economic Forum & G100 Global Meet 2026 here today.
