Gamuda Land Makes History, Launches Largest Hotel Under ASAI Brand

ASAI Gamuda Cove general manager Muhamad Buhari Muhamed Yusof said the 280-room hotel was developed within 755.14 hectares, located approximately 20 minutes from KL International Airport (KLIA), utilising the ‘ASAI Tropical’ model, which was expanded by Dusit International to create a nature-inspired destination.

“As the first property to introduce the ‘Live Local’ concept, ASAI Gamuda Cove is complemented by the nature-centric setting of the Paya Indah Discovery Wetland, offering outdoor activities, dining outlets and commercial offerings as part of the guest experience.

“ASAI consistently strives to connect guests with the local elements around them; at ASAI Gamuda Cove, this vision is brought to life by showcasing these elements as a fresh expression in Malaysia,” he said during the hotel’s launch ceremony at ASAI Gamuda Cove here today.

Also present were the Thai Ambassador to Malaysia, Lada Phumas; Dusit International’s vice president (operational excellence, optimisation and special projects) Aloysius Michael and Gamuda Land’s chief operating officer (project operations) Wong Siew Lee.

Elaborating further, Muhamad Buhari, also known as Bob Yusof, said this move enables them to offer something distinct from urban properties while upholding the friendly and inclusive elements that are central to the ASAI brand.

He noted that this collaboration indirectly provides the public with more options and advantages to extend their stays, explore more locations and experience the diverse facets of Gamuda Cove.

“Situated adjacent to the 450-hectare Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands and managed through a tripartite agreement involving the federal and Selangor governments, the hotel offers guests the opportunity to explore the beauty of the freshwater natural environment and local wildlife.

“The surrounding township also features various other attractions, including the 36.4-hectare Wetlands Arboretum, SplashMania Water Park and Discovery Park, all offering family-oriented recreational experiences,” he said.

He said Gamuda Cove also provides an electric tram network connecting various nature, recreational and commercial destinations throughout the area to facilitate visitor movement.

He added that the hotel has strengthened the leisure and lifestyle portfolio at Gamuda Cove, having received an encouraging response since welcoming its first guests during the pre-opening phase on Sept 15.

Key facilities at the hotel include an infinity pool overlooking the Paya Indah Discovery Wetland, a gymnasium, workspaces and meeting areas, as well as three dining outlets: Nasi & Khao, The Tea Shop and the Pool Bar.
