Flysiswa Ticket Assistance Increased, Dapur Siswa MADANI Expanded To Polytechnics And IPGs

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- The Flysiswa MADANI 2027 flight ticket assistance will be increased to RM500 from RM400 last year.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, when tabling Budget 2027 themed “Reaching for the Sky, Rooted in the Ground” in the Dewan Rakyat today, said the programme would benefit 60,000 students.

He said the Dapur Siswa MADANI programme would be expanded to polytechnics and teacher education institutes (IPGs), with an allocation of RM20 million.

“This initiative will provide cooking equipment, food supplies and the Menu Kasih Siswa meal priced at only RM5, while tax deductions will be granted to those who contribute food and equipment for the programme,” he said.

Meanwhile, to address student accommodation issues, he said the government would work with government-linked investment companies to expedite project implementation.

“Phase One of the Universiti Malaya Student Residence is scheduled for completion in 2031 and will benefit 10,000 Universiti Malaya students. KWAP will invest RM750 million in the Vista Kampus Project to build  student accommodation at six selected universities," he added.
