Gold Futures End Lower Despite Stronger COMEX Performance

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower on Tuesday despite better performances on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

At the close, the October 2026 contract fell to US$4,167.50 per troy ounce from US$4,178.40 previously, while the November 2026 contract declined to US$4,183.80 from US$4,195.40.

The December 2026 contract fell to US$4,200.70 per troy ounce from US$4,212.00 previously, while the January 2027, February 2027 and April 2027 contracts each declined to US$4,200.70 from US$4,212.00 previously.

Trading volume slid to 133 lots from 161 on Monday, while open interest decreased to 196 contracts from 228 previously.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,141.65 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on Oct 5.
