KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 (Bernama) --  The Economy Ministry has received 9,955 new and extension project proposals totalling RM944 billion for 2027.

The ministry said RM80.4 billion was required as the 2027 development expenditure ceiling for consideration under the development planning process.

“Under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) 2026-2030, ministries and agencies may submit proposals for development programmes and projects for consideration by the Economy Ministry through the rolling plan process,” it said in a written reply published on the Malaysian parliament website today.

The ministry was responding to a question from Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Anak Brodi (GPS-Sri Aman) on the mechanism to ensure every development project announcement includes clear allocations, implementation timelines, targets and responsible agencies.

It said engagement sessions with ministries, state governments and relevant agencies were also held to prioritise projects based on needs, implementation capacity and stipulated timelines.

“This is to ensure approved projects are implemented in an orderly manner, fully utilised within the year and completed on schedule for the benefit of the people, state development and local communities,” it added.
