Evocom Seeks Budget 2027 Support For Smart City, Green Logistics
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- Evocom Bhd is seeking greater emphasis on technology, artificial intelligence (AI), smart cities and clean energy under Budget 2027, as the logistics support services company looks to expand its role in route optimisation and green logistics.
Executive director and deputy chief executive officer Dr Esther Loo said the areas were closely aligned with Evocom’s plans to enhance route optimisation and reduce unnecessary delivery routes, while supporting the government’s broader efforts in smart city development and green energy.
“Budget 2027 looks into the growth of Malaysia, especially in terms of technology and AI. So, the way we look at it is smart cities and how we can contribute to smart cities, as well as clean energy.
“It falls very nicely with our future plan with our technology, whereby our leadership is in route optimisation, reducing unnecessary routes when it comes to delivery and optimising delivery,” she said at a press conference on Monday.
The Semenyih-based company, which supplies manpower to support the logistics operations of e-commerce platforms, made its debut on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia.
Loo said Evocom was also exploring ways to support the government, particularly in assisting low-wage workers, facilitating smart city data sharing, improving delivery routes and advancing green energy initiatives.
Budget 2027 is scheduled to be tabled by Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Parliament on Oct 9, 2026.
