Foreign Inflow Of RM194 Mln From Energy, Technology, Transport And Logistics Last Week
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- The energy, technology as well as transport and logistics sectors have attracted a combined net foreign inflow of RM194 million into Bursa Malaysia last week, according to MBSB Investment Bank Bhd (MBSB IB).
It said the energy sector led the inflows at RM104 million, followed by RM64.8 million in the technology sector and RM52.2 million in the transport and logistics sector.
Conversely, utilities, financial services and healthcare sectors recorded a combined net foreign outflow of RM604 million, MBSB IB said in its weekly Fund Flow Report for the week ended Sept 25, 2026.
“On Bursa Malaysia, foreign institutions reverted to net selling after the previous week of inflows, recording RM473.1 million in net outflows.
“Foreign institutions were net buyers on one out of five trading days during the week, with the only inflow recorded on Tuesday at RM20.4 million,” it said. The largest outflows were recorded on Wednesday at RM230.7 million, followed by Friday at RM132.8 million, Thursday at RM109.3 million and Monday at RM20.7 million.
MBSB IB also said local institutions ended their two-week consecutive net selling streak, recording RM384.0 million in net inflows.
Meanwhile, retailers extended their net buying streak to five consecutive weeks, recording RM89.0 million in net inflows.
MBSB IB added that the average daily trading volume saw a broad-based decrease, with retailers down by 3.3 per cent, local institutions down by 12.0 per cent, and foreign institutions fell by 36.3 per cent.
