RobotPlusPlus Expands Industrial Automation With HighMate Robots At SMM 2026
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- RobotPlusPlus, an engineering-led developer of working-at-height robots, is expanding industrial automation into cleaning, coating and corrosion-control applications with its HighMate Series, led by the HighMate AP-F-CO Coating Robot + VOC Recovery System.
Unveiled at SMM 2026 in Hamburg, the systems are designed to reduce workers’ exposure to hazardous work at height while improving productivity and consistency across maintenance operations involving ships, storage tanks, bridges and other large steel structures.
“With the HighMate AP-F-CO Coating Robot +VOC Recovery System entering international markets for the first time, RobotPlusPlus looks forward to bringing more automation and efficiency to work in high-risk environments,” said RobotPlusPlus Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Hua-Yang Xu.
The HighMate AP-F-CO uses permanent magnets to attach to steel surfaces and can operate on curved surfaces with a radius as tight as three metres, according to RobotPlusPlus in a statement.
Equipped with two spray nozzles and adjustable nozzle spacing and travel speed, the robot is designed to deliver consistent coating while reducing defects such as orange peel and sagging, with a production rate of 300 to 500 square metres per hour.
The system also integrates paint overspray recovery, collecting excess coating during operation to help maintain cleaner worksites, reduce material waste and minimise environmental impact.
RobotPlusPlus also showcased the HighMate AP Ex Series, an ATEX Zone 1-certified robot featuring a universal magnetic carrier and interchangeable modules for hydro blasting, cleaning, coating and abrasive blasting. The system delivers over 40 square metres per hour and recovers more than 99 per cent of wastewater.
Completing the company’s SMM 2026 display were the C20 Cargo Hold Cleaning Robot, designed for confined cargo-hold environments, and the HighMate Ultra Series Surface Preparation Robot, featuring a flexible four-wheel magnetic crawler for complex curved surfaces including ship hulls.
