Institute Of Corporate Directors Appoints Sridharan Nair To Its Board

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- The Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM) has appointed Sridharan Nair to its board, bringing valuable regional experience that enhances the board’s capabilities across audit, governance and leadership.

In a statement today, the ICDM said the appointment supports the institute’s efforts to professionalise boards and directorships to strengthen governance standards and board effectiveness in Malaysia.

Sridharan brings more than 36 years of expertise in audit, governance and business advisory experience across Malaysia, Asia Pacific and the United Kingdom.

“Throughout his career, he has advised listed companies, financial institutions and multinational organisations on audit, financial oversight, governance, risk management and strategic matters.

“His experience working with boards, business leaders and regulators across multiple markets will bring valuable regional and international perspectives to the ICDM board,” it said.

Sri had a distinguished 32-year career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), having most recently served as chairman of PwC Asia Pacific.

His previous leadership roles include Asia Pacific vice-chairman (markets), PwC Malaysia/Vietnam’s territory senior partner, and PwC Malaysia’s managiing partner.

He also served on the board of the Financial Reporting Foundation of Malaysia for six years and was a frequent speaker and commentator on corporate governance, economic trends, board diversity, human capital and talent development.

ICDM chairman Tan Sri Zarinah Anwar said: “His experience leading PwC Asia Pacific and working with boards, regulators and business leaders from both an external and internal leadership role will strengthen ICDM’s initiatives and support for directors.”
