China's AgiBot Commits To RM1 Bln Potential Investment - PM Anwar

HANGZHOU, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim held several meetings with senior management from five Chinese industry giants, with AgiBot Innovation pledging a potential investment of RM1 billion by 2035, alongside the creation of 5,000 job opportunities.
Meanwhile, ZTE Corporation outlined initiatives and investments worth RM170 million to drive Malaysia's digital transformation, thereby creating more quality career opportunities for locals.
Three other companies that held meetings were Alibaba Group, Geely Automobile Holdings and Huawei Technologies.
“Our discussions centered on exploring new investment opportunities and strategic collaborations in high-impact sectors including humanoid robotics, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), EV technology and e-commerce,” he said in a social media post.
He added that discussions with Alibaba Group also touched on efforts to expand market access for Malaysian products, particularly those from the micro, smal and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the national halal industry, to the Chinese and global markets through Alibaba’s digital ecosystem.
Anwar said the MADANI Government remains committed to spearheading and attracting high-quality investments, empowering local talent, and creating skilled job opportunities to drive economic prosperity for the people and the nation.
The Prime Minister arrived here on Tuesday for a three-day working visit to Shanghai and Hangzhou.
China has remained Malaysia's largest trading partner for 17 consecutive years, with total bilateral trade reaching US$113.82 billion (RM456.68 billion) between January and August of this year.
