IHH's Share Price Up 1.43 Pct Despite Fortis Mandatory Tender Offer Approval Delay
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 (Bernama) -- IHH Healthcare Bhd’s share price rose 1.43 per cent to RM7.77 despite the company reporting losses stemming from delays in obtaining the required mandatory tender offer (MTO) approvals for its acquisition of Fortis Healthcare.
The delays were amid a dispute between Japanese pharmaceutical company Daiichi Sankyo Co Ltd and its “judgment debtors”.
Last Friday, the Tokyo District Court dismissed a 200 billion yen (100 yen = RM2.64) damages claim brought by IHH’s indirect wholly owned subsidiary Northern TK Venture Pte Ltd (NTK) against Daiichi Sankyo and ordered NTK to bear the litigation costs.
The healthcare company said it remains unrelated to the underlying dispute between Daiichi Sankyo and Fortis’ former promoters, and defended its Fortis acquisition as a transparent, regulated process.
At 11.58 am, IHH Healthcare’s share price gained 12 sen to RM7.77, with 1.41 million shares traded.
