CPO Futures End Higher On Firmer Crude Oil, DCE Palm Olein Gains

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 (Bernama) -- Crude palm oil (CPO) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher on Monday, supported by stronger crude oil prices and gains in palm olein futures on China's Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE).
Fastmarkets Palm Oil Analytics senior analyst Dr Sathia Varqa said expectations of production risks due to seasonal and El Niño-related weather conditions, along with optimism regarding Indian demand, have supported palm oil prices
“These factors lifted the benchmark November contract to its second-highest close of the year,” he told Bernama.
At the close, the September 2026 contract rose RM90 to RM4,698 per tonne, October 2026 increased RM41 to RM4,816 per tonne, and November 2026 gained RM49 to RM4,978 per tonne.
The December 2026 contract strengthened by RM56 to RM5,110 per tonne, January 2027 improved by RM67 to RM5,294 per tonne, and February 2027 added by RM73 to RM5,347 per tonne.
Trading volume decreased to 91,019 lots from 116,950 lots last Friday, while open interest widened to 337,392 contracts from 334,025 contracts previously.
The physical CPO price for September South was firmer by RM30 to RM4,700 per tonne.
