Pekat Group Secures RM57.18 mln Hyperscale Data Centre Subcontracts In Johor

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 (Bernama) -- Pekat Group Bhd’s indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Pekat E & LP Sdn Bhd, has secured three subcontracts worth a combined RM57.18 million.

The subcontracts cover the design, supply, installation and testing of earthing and lightning protection systems and associated works for a hyperscale data centre project in Johor Bahru, Johor.

Pekat said the first subcontract, valued at RM27.21 million, involves the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of earthing and lightning protection systems, while the second, valued at RM4.64 million, involves the supply and installation of an earthing and lightning protection system for a substation.

“The third subcontract, valued at RM25.33 million, covers the design, supply, installation and testing of earthing and lightning protection services, including the installation of earth mats, lightning protection systems and associated cabling, among others.

“It also covers related civil works for the installation of the earthing and lightning protection systems,” the company said in a statement today.

Pekat said the first subcontract is targeted for completion by September 2027, while the second and third subcontracts are targeted for completion by February 2027, subject to any extension of time or variation granted in accordance with the terms of the respective subcontracts.

The subcontracts are expected to contribute positively to the group’s revenue and earnings for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026 and until the expiry of the subcontracts, it added.
