Batik Air Cancels Scheduled KL-Jakarta Flights Today Due To Volcanic Ash

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 (Bernama) -- Scheduled flights between Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta remained cancelled today following ongoing volcanic activity at Mount Anak Krakatau in Indonesia’s Sunda Strait, between Java and Sumatra, said Batik Air.

The carrier said the decision follows the latest operational assessment and continued coordination with the relevant aviation authorities and airport operators.

“Affected passengers may request to reschedule their travel to the next available Batik Air flight, subject to availability, or request a refund,” it said in a statement today.

Batik has cancelled eight scheduled flights between Malaysia and Jakarta today, namely OD398, OD399, OD346, OD347, OD388, OD389, OD390 and OD391.

Six of the cancelled services operate between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Jakarta, while two operate between Subang and Jakarta.

Batik Air, a Malaysian carrier, operates under Indonesia’s Lion Air Group.
