Gold Futures End Higher Despite Weaker COMEX Performance

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today, despite a weaker performance on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

At the close, the spot-month August 2026 contract rose to US$4,602.0 per troy ounce from Thursday’s US$4,595.90, and the September 2026 contract edged up to US$4,619.30 from US$4,613.20.

The October and November 2026 contracts both increased to US$4,635.50 per troy ounce from US$4,629.40, while the December 2026 and February 2027 contracts advanced to US$4,643.30 from US$4,637.20.

Trading volume declined to 347 lots from 620 lots on Thursday, while open interest contracted to 415 contracts from 688 contracts previously.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,568.95 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on Aug 27, 2026.
