Bursa Malaysia Lower At Midday In Line With Most Regional Peers
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia remained lower at midday on continuous profit-taking amid selling pressure, in line with most regional markets following artificial intelligence (AI) worries, said an analyst.
At 12.30 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 9.09 points to 1,739.08 compared with Wednesday's close of 1,748.17.
The benchmark index opened 1.48 points higher at 1,749.65, marking its highest point during the morning session, before trending downwards towards the midday break.
The broader market was negative, with losers outpacing gainers 515 to 441, while 526 counters were unchanged, 1,261 untraded and 13 suspended.
Turnover totalled 1.76 billion units worth RM1.26 billion.
