KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 (Bernama) -- Sun PhuQuoc Airways has launched a new daily direct service between Kuala Lumpur and Phu Quoc to further strengthen tourism and travel connectivity between Malaysia and Vietnam.

The airline said the service, scheduled to commence on Sept 1, 2026, will operate one daily return flight, making Malaysia the seventh international market served directly by Sun PhuQuoc Airways.

"The inaugural flight on Sept 1 is scheduled to depart Phu Quoc International Airport at 1.45 pm, arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 4.20 pm.

"The return service will depart Kuala Lumpur at 5.20 pm and arrive in Phu Quoc at 5.55 pm. All timings are based on local time," it said in a statement today.

The airline is offering one-way fares from RM370, together with a 20 per cent discount on base fares across all fare classes for bookings made through the airline's official website or mobile application, excluding peak travel periods.

Fares include complimentary meals according to the selected fare class and a 23-kilogramme checked baggage allowance, while child fares are available at 75 per cent of the applicable adult fare.

"Malaysia represents one of the most promising international source markets for Phu Quoc tourism, while Kuala Lumpur serves as one of Southeast Asia's key aviation hubs with extensive regional and long-haul connectivity," the airline said.

It said the new route is expected to strengthen tourism flows between the two countries while attracting international transit passengers travelling through Kuala Lumpur.

Looking ahead, it said Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to further expand its international network throughout 2026 by introducing new services across Northeast Asia, India, Russia and Central Asia, while strengthening connections between Vietnam's major economic and tourism destinations.

The airline also expects to increase its fleet to 32 aircraft by the end of 2026, supporting continued network expansion.
