Xsolla Partners GDAP, DTI-EMB To Support Philippine Game Industry

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- Xsolla has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) and the Department of Trade and Industry's – Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) to support the growth of the Philippine video game development ecosystem through mentorship, industry promotion and access to global game commerce solutions.

The global video game commerce company said the partnership brings together a global game commerce platform, the Philippines' primary game industry association and the government agency responsible for export promotion and international market development.

The collaboration aims to strengthen local development capabilities, increase the international visibility of Philippine-made games and provide developers with infrastructure to compete in global markets.

In a statement, Xsolla President, Chris Hewish said the Philippines has emerged as one of Southeast Asia's most promising game development markets, citing its creative talent, engaged gaming community and government support for industry growth.

He said the partnership is intended to help Philippine developers strengthen their capabilities, increase their international visibility and access the commerce infrastructure needed to expand globally.

Under the agreement, Xsolla, GDAP and DTI-EMB will develop mentorship and capability-building programmes for game developers and publishers, including workshops, seminars, training sessions and one-on-one mentoring focused on accelerator, publishing, and monetisation opportunities.

The initiative is intended to support developers at different stages of growth, from independent studios to established publishers seeking international expansion. The partners will also coordinate marketing activities and industry events to promote the Philippines as a global gaming destination and support the country's broader export promotion efforts.

Xsolla said the partnership reflects the growing importance of the Philippines in the global video games industry and is expected to create new opportunities for local developers to build, launch and monetise games for international audiences.
