Gold Futures End Lower, In Line With Weaker COMEX

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower on Monday, in line with the weaker performance on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

At the close, the new spot-month August 2026 contract edged down to US$4,067.70 per troy ounce from US$4,067.90 per troy ounce last Friday, and the September 2026 note dipped to US$4,079.80 per troy ounce from US$4,080 previously. 

The October 2026, November 2026 and December 2026 contracts were all lower at US$4,092.80 per troy ounce compared with US$4,110.50 previously.

The trading volume slipped to 116 lots from 291 lots last Friday, while open interest declined to 181 contracts from 359 contracts previously.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,026.60 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on July 31, 2026.
