Gold Futures Track COMEX To Close Lower

KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, tracking losses on the US Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

At the close, the spot-month July 2026 contract eased to US$4,039.10 per troy ounce from US$4,093.90 per troy ounce on Monday, the August 2026 contract decreased to US$4,058.70 per troy ounce from US$4,114.50 per troy ounce, and September 2026 was lower at US$4,070.80 per troy ounce from US$4,124.80 per troy ounce.

The October 2026 and December 2026 contracts both slid to US$4,101.30 per troy ounce from US$4,155.30 per troy ounce previously.

Trading volume rose to 91 lots from 41 lots yesterday, while open interest jumped to 166 contracts from 117 contracts previously.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,075.00 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on July 27, 2026.
