Zecon Unit Wins RM328 Mln EPCC Contract For Sarawak Solar Project

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) -- Zecon Bhd's (Zecon) wholly-owned subsidiary, Zecon Renewables Sdn Bhd has been awarded a RM328 million engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract from fellow subsidiary Zecon Renewables (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd.

The contract entails the development of a 100-megawatt alternating current (100MWac) large-scale agrivoltaic solar photovoltaic (PV) facility in Sarawak, including the solar PV plant and its connection facilities.

The scope of works also covers the construction of a proposed 130-metre bridge over the Serai River in Kuching, Sarawak, as well as site infrastructure and earthworks within the Kota Petra Green Technology Park (KPGTP).

“As the anchor renewable energy project within the park, it sets the template for how future phases will be structured, financed and delivered, and demonstrates that KPGTP is moving decisively toward becoming one of Sarawak’s leading investment destinations,” Zecon said.

The group said the 100MWac Phase 1 project marks the first major development under the KPGTP masterplan.

“As the anchor renewable energy project within the park, it sets the template for how future phases will be structured, financed and delivered,” it said.
