Road To MAHA Labuan 2026 To Feature Fisheries, Agriculture, Agrotourism Industries
LABUAN, July 20 (Bernama) -- Visitors to Road to MAHA Labuan 2026 can look forward to themed exhibition zones showcasing agriculture, fisheries, entrepreneurship, agrotourism and food industries at the July 23-26 event at the Labuan International Sea Sports Complex.
Labuan Corporation chief executive officer Rithuan Ismail said the exhibition layout has been designed to provide visitors with an engaging experience while highlighting various sectors of the agri-food industry.
The six zones comprise Food Security and Innovation; Modern Livestock Farming; Aquaculture and Tuna Industry; Agrotourism and Culture; SME and Youth Entrepreneurs; and the Labuan Food Empire, as well as an Agro MADANI sales area.
Rithuan said zone one will feature modern farming technologies, fertigation systems, agricultural machinery, food analysis services and entrepreneur clinics.
He said visitors will also enjoy the "Eat More Local Fruits" campaign, which includes the distribution of 3,000 fruit cups, promotional sales of a tonne of Sabah avocados and three tonnes of Tenom pomelos, as well as interactive quizzes, cooking competitions and games.
Zone two will showcase modern livestock farming through poultry displays, livestock exhibitions and a closed-house poultry farming model. There will also be a petting zoo.
Zone three will focus on aquaculture and the tuna industry, highlighting a complete fisheries value chain, including aquaculture, seafood processing, cold-chain logistics, downstream products and export opportunities.
"Visitors will have the opportunity to sample premium tuna-based products and locally produced seafood while learning about the industry's economic potential," he said.
Agrotourism, local heritage, handicrafts and community gardens will be promoted at zone four. Zone five focuses on SME and youth entrepreneurship through financing advisory services by Agrobank and agricultural Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes.
Local vendors will be able to market their food and beverage products in zone six. Visitors will also enjoy the Agro MADANI and Rahmah MADANI sales, which offer fresh produce and household essentials at discounted prices.
Among the activities lined up are the Visit Malaysia Colour Run, cooking and floral arrangement demonstrations, a creative dance competition, a fireworks display and performances by invited artistes.
