H2O.ai Expands Singapore AI Lab Investment

KUALA LUMPUR, July 16 (Bernama) -- H2O.ai has expanded its investment in its Forward Deployed AI Lab in Singapore, strengthening its regional capabilities to support enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) deployments across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

The sovereign enterprise AI platform in a statement said the expansion includes growing its Singapore-based team of AI engineers and data scientists, enhancing delivery infrastructure and widening its partner network to help customers design, build and deploy production-grade AI solutions.

H2O.ai Chief Executive Officer and Founder Sri Ambati said the company believes the most valuable enterprise AI is developed alongside customers and local partners, enabling organisations to retain sovereign ownership of their AI assets while addressing local operational and regulatory requirements.

The Singapore lab will embed AI engineers directly within customer teams to accelerate the deployment of predictive and agentic AI applications, while supporting sovereign AI deployments, including on-premises and air-gapped environments that allow organisations to maintain full control over their data, models and operations.

Its Vice President of Partnerships, APAC Jamie Lim said enterprises and governments across the region increasingly require locally based AI expertise and data residency, adding that the Singapore lab reflects the company's long-term commitment to building those capabilities in the region.

H2O.ai said the investment also expands dedicated hardware and software infrastructure, delivery partnerships and subject-matter expertise, with a permanent in-region team focused on serving regulated industries and public-sector organisations.

The expansion builds on its existing presence in Singapore, where its Enterprise GenAI suite is accredited under the Infocomm Media Development Authority's Accreditation programme. H2O.ai is also a member of the AI Verify Foundation and contributes to Project Moonshot, an open-source toolkit for testing and evaluating large language models.

H2O.ai said the expanded Singapore lab reinforces the city-state's position as a regional hub for trusted enterprise AI and supports its strategy of delivering AI solutions across sectors including financial services, government and other regulated industries in APAC.
