IILM's Outstanding Sukuk Portfolio Hits Record US$7.2 Bln
KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 (Bernama) -- The International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation’s (IILM) total outstanding short-term sukuk assets climbed to a record US$7.2 billion, following a US$1.28 billion issuance and reissuance exercise (US$1=RM4.07).
IILM, the world’s leading issuer of Shariah-compliant short-term liquidity instruments, said the issuances were made across four different tenors of one, three, six and 12 months.
The auction attracted strong demand from a diverse base of international investors, generating aggregate orders of US$2.763 billion, representing an oversubscription rate of 2.16 times.
The four series were priced at 3.86 per cent for US$378 million (one-month), 4.05 per cent for US$547 million (three-month), 4.10 per cent for US$317 million (six-month) and 4.05 per cent for US$40 million (12-month), it said in a statement.
“Today’s transaction marked IILM’s thirteenth sukuk auction in 2026, bringing cumulative issuance volume for the year to US$15.877 billion across 62 short-term sukuk series of varying maturities,” it said.
Chief executive officer Mohamad Safri Shahul Hamid said IILM’s year-to-date outstanding sukuk portfolio has grown by 12.5 per cent despite one of the most volatile market environments in recent years.
“This achievement has been underpinned by sustained demand from a diverse global investor base, reaffirming the confidence placed in IILM’s high-quality short-term Islamic liquidity instruments and their increasingly important role in supporting the cross-border liquidity management needs of Islamic financial institutions,” he said.
All issuances were conducted under its US$8.5 billion short-term sukuk issuance programme, rated “A-1” by S&P Global Ratings and “F1” by Fitch Ratings.
